Re: [ARSCLIST] TAPE workshop on the curation and preservation of audiovisual collections, Glasgow, UK, 12-16 May 2008

A friend of mine introduced me to cask strength single malts. I call it casket strength. After tasting that stuff, I haven't been able to go back to blended whiskeys.

Am I the only one who gets a hankering for scotch every time I watch Boston Legal? Talk about subliminal..

Cola with ice: yes! With rum, perhaps. But with fine whiskey? Take
that back about Jack Daniels being a drain cleaner: it's not fair to the

If so, I must advise the American members of the list who are not versed
in the finer details of Whisky that you do not put ice or cola in your
Malt. If you insist on drinking Jack Daniels Drain Cleaner or suchlike
you may do what the blazes you like :) But a fine Talisker or such of
its ilk may just have a wee bit of water to "open her up" if your taste
buds so desire :)

Mind you, if they are serving some awful blended stuff, take it home and
use it to clean your vinyl records !
