can recommend him.

If I had someone show up with a rare wide-groove laquer, or a minty Edison disk, or a metal part, 
I'd of course send them to Shiffy or you. But for my own small pile of 78's (some in very good 
condition, most not so much, especially after a few rounds playing show-off fodder for my Victrola), 
do you think this unit is enough:

I don't want to invest very heavily in 78's but I do have a few I'd like to get transferred and once 
in a while someone shows up at the studio with an old home-brewed disk or two. I even have a few of 
those from long-dead relatives.

I think the way I'd approach 78's is transfer flat and do EQ in the software, making full use of the 
proper NR tools.

As for LPs, the Thorens turntables are indeed impressive. However, at those prices I might be more 
inclined to look at a VPI Scout or a super-hotrodded Technics 1200. One concern I had about the 
Technics is rumble. Have they figured out a fix to the age-old direct-drive rumble problem?
