Re: [ARSCLIST] cd burner / dvd burner recommendations

Hi Erik:

That's not apparent to me. Can you site some factual documentation?

A quick google turned this up:
http://wesleytech.com/plextor-exits-cd-dvd-markets/63/
but I have never heard of this website.

The alleged parent company of Plextor cited in this article seems to have a Japanese-only website.

Assuming this is true, I just ordered a Plextor DVD burner as a spare.

I like plextor, too. But apparently they don't make those themselves anymore. They rebrand them.

I was going to say, one word -- PLEXTOR. I like the internal (EIDE) kind and the external firewire kind. Use both and neither has ever made a coaster or a disc that a client can't use.

I highly recommend Plextor PX-755UF, firewire.

Hi all!

I know this is a subject that has been talked about a lot on this list. I need a newe dvd burner. I used to use NEC burners and liked them a lot. Now they are in a joined venture with Sony and I read not too many good things about them online. Reading reviews on dvd burners in general in the various online forums, etc. just confused me more.
I was just wondering what people on this list were using nowadays. If somebody wants to recommend something I would appreciate it if they were still available for purchase.

Erik
