Richard,

Looks like a pretty convenient set-up. I've been pretty happy with the Plastiform viewer. Even in the dry Colorado climate I haven't had problems keeping the humidor filled. But I will admit that there are times when the signal on the tape is too soft to be seen well. Has the Sigma worked better for you in those situations? I also wasn't able to find a price on it.

Hi, Angie,

Keeping the humidor filled isn't too much of a problem, but mine got mildew-y and trying to get rid of that was the challenge.

I think the Sigma MV-95 is 5-10 dB more sensitive (relative to recorded fluxivity) than the Plastiform. It's also about 9-12 dB more expensive - in the Studer list group buy it was about $229 US IIRC, the magnifier was $88 CAD delivered with reticle.

Cheers,

Richard
