[ARSCLIST] Once again, user-hostile DRM scheme gets foiled

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/03/technology/03code.html

Hollywood will get into the same bad swamp that Big Music is in very quickly if they are not careful. The symptoms are the same -- decline of primary product, new product is often lifeless schlock, production budgets are high, main consumer delivery medium is physical (requiring plants and distribution) and user-hostile. DVD's could find themselves with CD's in the junkbin of history very soon. Probably the only thing holding off the wolves right now is Hollywood makes visual entertainment, which is more popular than aural entertainment, and they are still capable of blockbuster hits which pay the bills for another year.
