First...most "common market" countries have standardized the copyright
term on sound recordings at 50 years (although I've never done a country-
by-country survey...). Needless to say, RIAA is NOT happy with this and
are doing everything they can to change it.

Second...technically, I'm not supposed to sell my reissue CD(-R)'s in
the US...although, as I understand it, it is the purchaser(s) who are
breaking a law in THEIR country by buying a sound recording which still
belongs to some US mega-corporation. As long as I'm dealing in tens or
dozens sold, I stay "under the radar" of RIAA; however, if I'm trying
to mass-produce them, they can/will take action. That is what got
Naxos into hot water! This would also be the case if I step too
heavily on their project...i.e. put out my own disc of "Elvis'
Greatest Hits"...
