Just a quick last minute reminder that the first two airings of the special Nauck's Vintage Records broadcast hosted by Kurt Nauck take place this weekend on Saturday April 7 and Sunday April 8. The program will be broadcast again on Friday April 13 and Saturday April 14.
Kurt and his assistant Brian have put together an outstanding program - a full 7 hours worth of great vintage recordings from the 1890s through the 1950s. The final hour of the program is a "bonus" hour devoted strictly to the sort of jazz and dance band recordings - the kind of music Radio Dismuke normally plays. The first 6 hours feature a very wide variety of genres from jazz to opera, from classical to early rock and roll plus historical spoken word recordings and a number of vintage cylinder records. These Nauck's specials are a truly unique opportunity to hear rare and historical recordings that, in many cases, have not been performed in public in decades - so I hope you will try and catch it. With a 7 hour program, if you are not able to tune in on time - well, tune in late and you will still be able to catch a lot of great music. And if you are not able to stick around for the entire program, you can always catch the portions you miss on the subsequent airings.
