It's so sad isn't it?  It just hurts to think of all those wonderful artifacts and papers gone forever.  And, as the article says, no one really thought the damage would be so extensive. 

 Someone recently told me (he lost his home and car to the hurricane) that it wasn't really Katrina that was bad, it was all the flooding and then, mud, humidity, and everything underwater for so long that really destroyed the city.
