on the XP i use Sonic RecordNow. it works well to burn DVD data in ISO+Joliet+UDF, which yields 106 character filenames. the UDF seems to be the way to go for archival issues.

on Mac i use Toast.

(also use .WAV -extension files which include BWF data too, in accordance with the NARAS guidelines). very handy.
