[ARSCLIST] Obituary: Richard Kapp (1936-2006)

Dear friends,

Richard Kapp, a man dear and generous both to the
music and the public radio worlds has just died on
Sunday at his home in Danbury, Connecticut at the age
of 69. He was conductor and founder of the
Philharmonia Virtuosi, the owner of ESS.A.Y.
Recordings, and a frequent presenter and vendor at
AMPPR conferences. Some of the most enjoyable discs
(to me) issued by the label in recent years include
"Musical Evenings with the Captain" and "Roast Beef of
Old England"--albums inspired by Patrick O'Brian's
series of Master and Commander novels.

His obituary is in today's New York Times at
