I believe there are many organizations that need a sound archivist, but,
in my experience there are few that place enough value on it to devote any
of their resources to it.

I remember a publication of the Association of Research Libraries...it was
about ten years ago...it had mention of the notion that libraries should
not look to grants to fund audio preservation projects...once the grant is
gone, what are you going to do to support an ongoing need...so, unique
material is lost while we spend money repairing a book that can be
replaced for less than the cost of repairing it.

By the way, if you find too many jobs to apply for, let me know...I am
looking.
