Re: [ARSCLIST] Sound card recommendations

I use the 1820m, and the converters are outboard and excellent.

Jeppe,

For preservation work, IASA TC-04 recommends a stand alone A/D CONVERTER for a variety of reasons and provides technical specifications. This is to be used with a sound card that can pass a digital stream without alteration. They do not recommend using a card to handle the A/D conversion.

Subject: [ARSCLIST] Sound card recommendations

Hello All.
I'm looking for stand alone sound card that meets the recommendations from IASA TC-04 regarding the analogue to digital converter and jitter. Does anybody have a recommendable product that does not cost a fortune and is available worldwide?

It's to be used to digitize old reel tapes.

Yours sincerely
Jeppe Christensen
