Andy, Unless you have a Tascam DA-45, all dats are 16 bit. The DA-45 WILL record at 24 bit (at low speed - 44.1 or 48), which will use up twice as much tape (ie. a 120 minute dat will record for 60 min); it can also record at 16 bit resolution. Joe P.
