Re: [ARSCLIST] MP3 bit rates and usage factors for Web pages

Hi there -

This is an issue I have struggled with for sometime, and I have conducted
several tests at home using a programme I have called Audio Commander. With
this I have been able to record ANY audio I have come across and the quality is
very good as an end product. It worries me that entire interviews and/or music
clips are put onto the world wide web and are able to be recorded, used and/or
distributed without proper copyright restrictions.

Afterall, these oral histories, music collections, radio broadcasts, etc do
actually belong to someone, or some institution. My instinct has been to give
a very short excerpt of audio, with text, but to keep out the 'prized' part of
the audio that the person really wants. If they want it badly enough, then
they will have to get in touch with the company, University and pay for it!

Cheers
