True. I'm just surprised that anyone would think of those as a good
example of anything good. At least you can 'hear down into' the original
recordings, and all that is lost at the very minimum, leaving such a
pale trace of the original. Of course, I know it is preaching to the
choir...

It is an great example of the overuse of technology to squeeze the life
out of something, or perhaps just using technology just because it is
there. 

Must be my +50 age showing. It just doesn't show any reverence for the
original artist or recording...

Remember that folks (like me) who have spent a lot of time listening to
78's have a very selective and efficient sound processing system...
their minds! We don't even hear the noise that drives folks used to the
absolute silence of CD's up the wall!
