Re: [ARSCLIST] CD-ROM marking pens

We never print or mark our preservation CD-Rs (they happen to be MAM-E
ProStudio Gold too) but make note of the disc's unique 'serial number'
which is printed by the manufacturer at the disc's hub.  Because this
serial number is unique to the disc we use it as an identifier and use
it in one of the cataloguing fields as well as accompanying
documentation.  The basic content information on our access copies (on
Taiyo Yuden CD-Rs) are printed on the disc's surface using a Rimage
thermal printer.  We sometimes use "CD-R Pens" made by TDK and others
for 'quick' CD-R copies that are not being added to the collections but
may be used for a one-off presentation or similar.
