I've had good results with the less expensive Arboretum Systems
"Restoration NR" PC Direct X plugin, but I've only used it periodically
on dialogue.  For music from LPs and other sources, I prefer (with
earphones) to clean out noise between tracks and music breaks and
pauses, manually.  I hate to do anything to the music program itself.
It takes longer, but is no worse than working to remove heavy pops,
clicks and surface noise from our original acetate radio programs.
Those I do in a manual pass, too, in the final step before mastering to CD.
