If things were that simple.

And if its trackability were no good in cleanly tracking 40 cm/s
velocity at 10 kHz so each close miked "S" sibiliance sound distorted
quite audibly??

The tracking ability of a cartridge may not be that good even though it
might be flat to 50 kHz.

So only having the bandwith as my only concern makes a bad choice in my
opinon.
