[ARSCLIST] Job Opening - Indiana University



The IU School of Music has an opening for a research associate in Recording
Arts. This is an 18 Month grant funded position for research into
methodology and best practices for digitizing analog tape collections. This
project is in partnership with Johns Hopkins, they will be developing
specialized software for audio and metadata capture.

Here's a partial description:

Conduct research into best practices and develop a methodology for
digitizing School of Music live concert recordings held by the William and
Gayle Cook Music Library; research and document technical procedures for the
use of specialized hardware and software to digitize and capture metadata
for live concert recordings; digitize, and record technical and structural
metadata for live concert recordings; oversee the operation and technical
support of the Variations transfer lab and audio preservation lab in the
Cook Music Library; training and supervision of student workers in the
Variations transfer lab.
