[ARSCLIST] cataloging sound recordings



Check out the cataloging template available from Independent Media Art Preservation. It might save some time, as
a starting point.

The sample record does not show all of the fields, but if you download the tutorial, the complete list of fields may
be accessible.

We use a local version of it at the Bobst Library at NYU, but with added fields for physical description such as stock
brand, tape capacity, and base type (for cassettes and 1/4" reels). The idea for many of the added fields came from
Hannah Frost's talk on surveying audio collections.
