Re: [ARSCLIST] software for .wav files

this issue has been discussed thoroughly...

multiples of 44.1 are better, for they match more audio release formats
than any other, including all high-rez formats on the market and under
discussion.

SR
44.1, 88.2, 176.4

and.... 24 bit.

the only issue is that this makes it difficult to produce reference CDs,
as they need 16/44.
Samplitude and other editors allow you to make a quick 16/44 version of
any file (and sample rate conversion from an integral multiple of 44.1
is much faster and arguably better-sounding -imo- than 48kHz
multiples.) so if you acquire/transfer at 24/88.2, or 24/176.4, then
it's relatively quick for a program to spit out a 16/44 file for burning
to CDR at high-speed.

the only optical media which wants 48k-multiples is DVD-V, and that is
not an audio format. DVD-A, CD, SACD, all are based on 44-multiples.

Hi Kevin

Whatever Software you use, You should think adout transferring at 24 Bit
rather than 16 and 96KHz (or 88.1Hz) rather than 44.1
If you want the best possible quality archive
