Re: [ARSCLIST] Anti-virus on workstations?

In the IT lab at UT Austin's School of Information, we have a Digi 002
Rack/Pro Tools LE system running on a Mac dual G5 with OS X 10.3.4. We
found that if Norton Autoprotect was turned on, Pro Tools would not
record audio properly. If I remember correctly, it would start
recording and then stop abruptly after a few seconds with a DAE error.
However, Norton Antivirus is still installed on that machine and not
causing problems with autoprotect disabled, and I assume that we could
use it to scan the system for viruses when not running Pro Tools.

Good morning everyone,

I'm writing to get handle on how many of you are using anti-virus
software on
your digital audio workstations? If so, what has your experience
been? What
software are you running? Have you noticed any problems? Have you
heard from
other people that have had problems using anti-virus on a DAW?

Also, is there any published documentation available regarding the use
of
anti-virus on DAWs?

Thanks in advance,
