Yale HSR does NOT collect piano rolls, though we have accumulated a number of them, which came with collections of sound recordings. We cannot play the ones we have (and in fact have transferred most of them to the Musical Instrument Collection, which has an unrestored Welte machine). They have not been catalogued, and I can only think of one or two questions about them in the past 20 years or so.
Hi,
I'm trying to get an idea of which institutions intentionally collect piano rolls. And of the institutions that collect them (or have collections), are any of these collections cataloged or used?
