I might say that an unpublished recording is one that was not published but
was recorded with intent to publish, an alternate take, a rejected take

An unissued recording might be one that was not intended for release, such
as a private recording or a broadcast, although one could argue that a
b'cast was "released" when it was broadcast to the general public via the
airwaves
