DVD-Audio is just emerging for private use. It supports sample rates and
bit depths superior to CD-DA, so if the quality of the original justifies
it should be a preferred format. Of course, one can simply use
higher-quality WAV files; the advantage of DVD-Audio is that some players
will let you listen without a computer.
My personal opinion is that SACD and other 'super' CD formats will die as
soon as DVD-Audio is established. They offer no advantage when DVD players
become common and their virtues will be lost in non-DVD applications such
as DiscMan.
My suggestion is to capture to file (WAV) at the quality you wish. For
computerless listening, produce from that whatever format you find
suitable: CD-DA, DVD-Audio of whatever flavor, MP3, ...
