JOINT FIAT/IASA/DELOS WORKSHOP
Theme: "Preservation".

(in conjunction with the annual FIAT/IASA meeting on April 4-5)
Radio/audio is now very active in mass digitisation, and facing most of the traditional digital library issues (sustainability, funding, workflow, storage formats and technology, metadata)
This one day one-day workshop brings together researchers in the field of preservation, researchers in the field of Digital Libraries and end-users (of media digital libraries) from the IFTA/IASA community, to present and discuss what are the "hot topics" (in research and in practice) when dealing with digitisation, preservation and access to Digital Libraries.
The annual FIAT/IASA meeting, on April 4 and 5, will deal with topics of more specific interest to the community of Radio and Audio/Visual archives.

The meetings will take place at Ylesradio (Finnish Broadcasting Company), Radiokatu 5, Helsinki. The site can be easily reached by public transportation from the Helsinki city centre. Registered participants will receive more detailed practical information before the meeting.
There is no registration fee. Lunch will be available at the Yleisradio cafeteria during the meeting days, at cost. Participants must make their own hotel reservations. The organizers recommend Sokos Hotel Pasila, which is the only hotel within easy walking distance from Yleisradio. Standard advertised weekday rates are Euro 155 single, Euro 185 double, special rates for weekends; your own travel agent may be able to get a better rate.
