arsclist Post for researcher looking for Jean Harlow audio
Dear list,
I'm posting a query from an individual not on the listserv. This
researcher is looking for audio material on Jean Harlow, I've attached
his original question below. He mentions airchecks, but he'd be
interested in any transcription or recording of these shows. His
address is included, you can reply to him directly or I can forward
responses.
I know he'd be glad for any leads.
Thanks,
Jeanette

Dear Jeanette:
Per our phone conversation today: I am the author of BOMBSHELL: The
Life
and Death of Jean Harlow, originally published by Doubleday and edited
by
Jacqueline Onassis.
I am trying to determine whether airchecks of the following radio
shows
(all of which feature an appearance by Jean Harlow) survive:
THE LUCKY STRIKE DANCE HOUR (New York City, NBC)
broadcast dates: December 1, 1931, December 17, 1931 (two separate
shows)
host: Walter Winchell
CALIFORNIA MELODIES (CBS)
broadcast date: July 11, 1933
HOLLYWOOD ON THE AIR (c. 1933-34)
host: Jimmie Fidler
HOLLYWOOD HOTEL (CBS)
broadcast dates: October 19, 1934; August 9, 1935; November 29, 1935
(separate shows)
FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT BIRTHDAY BALL (NBC, CBS)
broadcast date: January 30, 1937
In addition, please check your archive for any other programs
featuring
Jean Harlow. And please post my query with your listserve. I have
always
believed in miracles.
Thanks again for your assistance.
Sincerely,
David Stenn
