Re: arsclist CD markers

I use a technical pen and what used to be called India ink, ink that is
permanent and very black. Companies like Rapid-o-graph and Staedtler make
the pens and the inks, too. The pen point has a fine wire that moves up
and down and (allegedly!) prevents the thick ink from drying up and
clogging the pen. I mark the sides of my CD cases with the year of
purchase, and the ink is the only one I know of that never fades.

I've burnt very few CDs, but as far as I know this in has given me no
problems. All art supply stores carry these technical pens.
