I'm trying to locate a copy of a
recording--for my grand-daughter.
Back in the late 60's, I reviewed an Lp
with children's nursery rhymes. The book, I remember was titled, Mother
Goose Nursery Rhymes. On the recording they were sung by a female
vocalist and told the story of the rhymes being a satire on the English
Crown:
Jack & Jill, Humpty Dumpty,
etc. It may have been a Folkways recording, since I was reviewing at the
time, much folk music for LJ.
If anyone has an idea of what this
recording was, or has a copy, I would like to know about it so, if it still
available through dealers or collectors, I might get a copy of it.
Thanks muchly.
