The Goldband Recording Corporation of Lake
Charles, Louisiana has
recorded--and in many cases has created--some
of the South's most important and distinctive musical styles and sounds,
ranging from the thirteen-year-old Dolly Parton to Iry LeJune's sorrowful
accordion, including Cajun, zydeco, blues, rhythm and blues, rockabilly
and swamp pop.
This site was launched in connection with ibiblio, a collaboration of the Red Hat Center and UNC-CH. ibiblio is a conservancy of freely available information, including software, music, literature, art, history, science, politics, and cultural studies.
