Executive Director
Georgia Music Hall of Fame

General Summary:

This is a non-merit position with excellent State benefits and a salary from the 70's.

The Georgia Music Hall of Fame, a component unit of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, is seeking an Executive Director to manage and promote this State-funded museum located in Macon, Ga. The 43,000-sq. ft., four-year-old museum is devoted to preserving the State's rich musical heritage. The museum which is staffed by 15 employees has an annual operating budget of $1.8 million.

The Executive Director is responsible for:

  • Promoting the museum throughout the State
  • Establishing long-term/short-term program goals
  • Developing/managing an operating budget
  • Supervising professional/technical/support staff
  • Establishing/maintaining effective community relations.

Preferred candidates will have public sector, nonprofit or museum experience, and strong managerial/supervisory, community relations, marketing, and fund raising skills. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Political Science or a related field is required. A Master's degree in Business, Public Administration or Museum Management and a least five years of supervisory experience is preferred.
