A New Tool for Flood-Damaged Collections

The first 48 hours after a hurricane or flood are critical in saving collections. Now anyone can have authoritative, hands-on advice at their fingertips: the Emergency Response and Salvage Wheel. The wheel provides essential information on protecting and salvaging collections of all kinds. It was developed by conservation professionals, and is endorsed by the FEMA and seven other federal agencies.

Wheels are available from the National Task Force on Emergency Response, 3299 K Street NW, Suite 602, Washington, DC 20007, 1-888-979-2233, $9.95 each, or $5.95 each for nonprofit/government, including P&H,($8.45, or $4.95 for 10 or more).


NOTE: The Task Force will be including Betty Walsh's Newsletter article Salvage...for...Archival Collections" in flood packets sent to disaster areas.
