zero angle
A completely flattened configuration of the fiber
bundles of a skin, in which the fibers are not
distributed in the customary complex
three-dimensional network, as in leather, but are
aligned into layers parallel to the grain and
flesh surfaces of the skin. A true zero angle is
probably not attainable, although PARCHMENT and vellum
generally have a very low angle. This type of
configuration results from drying a skin under
high tension. (291 )
