vapor permeability
That characteristic of a material which permits
the passage of a vapor or gas. The PERMEABILITY is
measured under carefully specified conditions,
such as total pressure, partial pressure on the
two sides of the specimen, temperature and
relative humidity. As the fibers of a material
such as paper have such a high affinity for water
(vapor), vapor permeability should not be confused
with air permeability or porosity. See also: WATER-VAPOR
PERMEABILITY . (17 , 42 )
