type face

1. The printing surface of the upper end of a piece of type which bears the character to be printed or impressed. 2. The style, or design, of characters on a set type-e.g., Times Roman-and comprising all the sizes -e.g., 10pt., 12pt.-in which the particular design is made. Type faces are available in hundreds of designs, sizes, and weights. (157 , 234 )
