tag board

A lightweight hoard used for envelopes. file folders, temporary wrapping, and the like. It is manufactured from jute. rope, chemical and mechanical wood pulps, or combinations thereof, usually on a cylinder machine but sometimes on a FOURDRINIER MACHINE . The board has a smooth surface and is available in a wide range of colors. Basis weights range from 80 to 300 pounds (22 1/2 X 28 1/2�), the most common weights being 80, 100, 125, 150, 175, 200, and 275 pounds. Tag board should have good bending and folding strength, high bursting and tensile strength, good resistance to tearing, and a finish suitable for writing or printing. (17 , 142 , 264 )
