Spanish grain

A grain pattern on leather produced by embossing the skin with a modified natural grain surface. This type of grain was formerly produced by drawing a hide or skin in a strong tan infusion so as to shrink the grain, resulting in a particular grain pattern due to the unequal shrinkage of the different parts of the skin.
