silk-screen prints
Decorative end- and cover papers produced by the
same principle as the stencil print, except that
the paint is forced through a cloth, producing a
printing quality. Paint used for these papers can
be made from a mixture of frothed wallpaper or
wheat paste and water, to which poster or powder
paint has been added. It should be the consistency
of whipped cream, but thin enough to flow freely
and not clog the screen. Silk-screen paint may
also be used. The less pigment used the more
transparent the color will be. (183 )
