1. An expression used by the vatman when the liquid pulp in the mold is formed into a uniform sheet of handmade paper. "Shut" also takes place on the papermaking machine. assisted by the action of the suction boxes and dandy roll. It is the point at which fiber movement within the web ceases (197 , 335 )
