1. To take a very slight trim from the edges of a book. See also:SANDING (1) ; TRIMMING (1) . 2. To pare or skive leather. The term is also applied to the areas of the leather covering of a book that have been pared or skived, usually the turn-ins and the area covering the spine. See also: PARING . (256 )
