sewing to show
A method of sewing a book that consists of one
section in which the cover is first placed over
the section and is sewn with it, thus being
visible on the outside. The three- or five-stitch
method, using fancy thread or cord, is frequently
used for this type of sewing. Cf: SEWING NOT TO SHOW .
