separate cover

A pamphlet cover printed separately from the text and usually on a different paper stock. Separate cover pamphlets, of which the usual periodical issue is a typical example, may be saddle stitched, side stitched, of (rarely) saddle sewn. The covers are usually of a heavy stock stitched to the publication; however, at times the pamphlet is sewn or stitched and the cover is then glued on. (339 )
