scoring machine

A machine used to score heavy paper or lightweight board. There are two basic types in use: the rotary scorer and the bender scorer. Each produces a blind impression in the sheet compressing and stretching the fibers. The machine may be a separate unit, or part of the printing press or folding machine. (58 )
