1. The natural configuration of a thin booklet, the individual folios of which have been inserted inside each other and saddle stitched, sewn, or corded to the cover through the center fold. 2. A book which has been shaped during the binding process to give it the familiar convex spine. The opposite of flat back. See: ROUNDING . (156 , 256 )
