reinforced library binding

A type of replacement (secondary) binding in a "pre-library bound" style. The term which is now virtually obsolete, is properly used only with reference to so-called Class "A" pre-library binding; however, it is sometimes also used with reference to a pre-bound book which retains the publisher's original case.
