The ratio of the fraction of light reflected by a
specimen to the fraction similarly reflected by a
standard reflector, under specified conditions.
The spectral reflectance curve gives the
reflectance of a specimen as it varies with
wavelength throughout the entire visible spectrum.
Reflectance is important in the physical
measurement of color brightness and opacity. (17 )
