pyroxylin-treated fabrics

A cotton fabric completely and (usually) heavily coated with the cellulose nitrate compound, pyroxylin; or, a fabric completely filled with the same compound. The former is usually called a "pyroxylin-coated fabric," and the latter a "pyroxylin-impregnated fabric." See also: BOOK CLOTH .
