pyroxylin

1. A substance consisting of lower-nitrated cellulose nitrate, usually containing less than 12.5% nitrogen. It is used in the manufacture of pyroxylin coated and impregnated book cloths. 2. The cellulose plastics and solutions, such as lacquers prepared from cellulose acetate. (164 , 235 )
