pressboard

A tough, dense, highly glazed rag or chemical wood pulp board used where strength and stiffness are required of a relatively thin sheet. It is produced in several colors, including brown, black, red, and gray, with a mottled surface that is smooth and highly polished. It is almost as hard as a sheet of fiber board and is used for the covers of notebooks and tablets. (339 )
