Persian morocco

Reputedly, a vegetable-tanned leather produced originally from goat skin and subsequently from the skins of various hair sheep. It is said to be tough and strong but lacking in permanence, supposedly because it is tanned from the condensed class of tannins. The leather is finished with a smooth grain surface in imitation of calfskin, which makes the expression "morocco" misleading. (264 )
